Founded in 2018, we started Onramp with the belief that traditional hiring models had become outdated and were passing over wide pools of amazing talent. Having worked in both large tech companies as well as the bootcamp industry, we’ve seen this problem from all sides. Companies want top talent, but they tend to only look at candidates with certain degrees or relevant work experience. Career changing candidates who might be self-taught or attend a bootcamp, can gain skills, but if they don’t have the resume or interview skills companies are looking for, they likely won’t land the job. So, we set out to solve this market failure by creating a skills-based hiring platform that provides all candidates, regardless of their background, the opportunity to demonstrate their skills (and learn new ones) during the hiring process, while providing companies with candidate insights that help them make smarter, less biased hiring decisions. We think this new method or Onramp’ing candidates is good for candidates and companies, alike.
